I was pretty bummed out when I found out Tia a.k.a. Melanie was leaving The Game. I’ve been a huge fan of the Mowry Twins since their Sister Sister days and Tia was the major reason I watched The Game.
That being said, I was pleased to hear that Tia’s been cast for the pilot season of Nick at Nite’s Instant Mom, in which she depicts a 25 year old party girl that becomes an “instant mom” upon marrying an older man with two children from a previous marriage. A premiere date has yet to be released but I know I will be tuning in when the time comes.
Of course, the twins also have a reality show on E! “Tia & Tamera,” which chronicles their lives as they navigate through marriage, motherhood, and acting careers.
Check out my slideshow of favorite recent pictures of the twins.
I’ve added a new word to my vocabulary! According to Wikipedia, “chartreuse is a color halfway between yellow and green that was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liquers called green chartreuse.”
It’s the perfect pop of color to brighten up any outfit and mood.
I’ve finally figured out how to artfully collage images together. Hope you love my Chartreuse Love Board as much as I do!
1. Jason Wu is two for two with this gown! His first hit gown, you ask? Michelle Obama’s inaugaural dress.
2. Just another reason I heart Pinterest.
3. Looking to add a splash of color to your home? How’s this Chartreuse Bead Print found on Etsy.

It Girl, Rihanna is on her
third, fourth, (okay, I’ve lost count!), summer vacation in her native Barbados.
The six-time Grammy winner’s bad girl image was perfectly reflected in her ensemble du jour. The snapback hat, the red lips, the body necklace , I love it all!
Time and time again, she exudes effortless swag.
Oprah came for a visit to film an interview with the songstress for an appearance on Oprah’s Next Chapter that will air on August 19th.
“Oh, you know, it’s just me and Op cruising ‘round town. Nothing to look at over here.”
If you’re like me and can hardly wait until August 19th, here’s a little dose of Rihanna to hold you over.
Solange is the new face of Madewell, J.Crew’s younger/hipper sister store. This is her first major contract with a fashion label and I couldn’t be happier for her!
Madewell’s Fall selection includes a variety of bold prints and textures that perfectly compliment Solange’s eclectic style. I call that a match made in style heaven!

I like to give credit where credit is due.
I came across Honey Cocaine while browsing through Youtube a few months back.
With an ever-growing fan base, this Toronto-born, Cambodian rapper is destined to be the next great female MC. Discovered by Tyga earlier this year, after posting a remake of his song, Rack City, on Youtube, she’s been the First Lady of Last Kings ever since.
Her gritty lyrics/pretty smile combo makes her an artist you won’t quickly forget and while I definitely dig her raw talent and swag appeal, my only reservation is her less than tasteful stage name.
Look out Nicky Minaj!

Fast forward to 1:10 for H.C’s hook.
Ever since I caught news of Beyonce’s Tumblr, following the birth of Baby Carter, I have been
following stalking her page. These glimpses into her private life are far and few and I, for one, relish in every one of them. Here are the latest additions to her site:
I guess I’ve made my girl crush on Bey abundantly clear now.
A few months ago, on the hunt for a practical way to introduce raw foods into my diet, I came across the green smoothie craze, by way of greensmoothiegirl.com. These fruit and veggie blends offer an easy and delicious way of increasing raw food intake.
The well-documented benefits of raw food consumption include improved digestion and radical increases in energy levels. In addition, over time raw food diets decrease junk food cravings, thereby naturally improving skin and hair health.
After some trial and error, I came up with my favorite recipe.
– 1 chopped fully ripened banana
– 1 chopped peach
– 1 handful of strawberries
– 2 handfuls of spinach
– ½ of a chopped cucumber (optional)
– splash of your choice of milk (I’m an almond milk girl, myself)
– 2 large spoonfuls of plain yogurt
Throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend. If it isn’t smooth you can add more milk or yogurt.
Finished product= yummy green goodness!
I also found this handy Green Smoothie recipe guide on Pinterest to help you devise your very own favorite green smoothie blend.
The crop top trend has quickly become a summer fashion staple. However, done wrong, this trend can be a major fashion faux pas. Keep it classy by pairing crop tops with high waisted bottoms. The crop top/high waisted combo allows a small amount of skin to peek through rather than exposing the whole shabang.
Here are a few examples of the style worn properly:
Remember, ladies, rather than following trends blindly, always dress for your body type. This look is definitely not intended for universal application.
Crop top enthusiast? Shop the trend at Modcloth, Asos, and TopShop.
In honor of No Doubt’s highly anticipated reunion, I thought I’d pay tribute to one of my absolute favorite fashionistas, Gwen Stefani. Her style is the perfect melange of sophistication and spunk that I just can’t get enough of.
Here are a few of, what I believe to be, her greatest looks.
She donned this Stella McCartney number to the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

Again in Stella McCartney, at the preview of My Valentine in LA.
She showed off her hour glass figure in this Lanvin gown at the 2007 Annual Black Ball Concert for Keep a Child Alive.
Gwen’s fashion line L.A.M.B. isn’t to shabby either. The street-chic fashion empire has evolved from t-shirts and sweats to a full fledged line, complete with a variety of clothing pieces, shoes, and handbags.
Signing off, I’ll leave you with the best of the best of No Doubt.
Summer is in full swing and what better way to beat the heat than to whip up some booze-infused popsicles?!
The key to making alcohol popsicles is including enough non-alcoholic ingredients to allow the mix to completely freeze. If you’ve ever stuck a bottle of vodka into a freezer, you’re well aware that this liquid doesn’t freeze as easily as water. A slushy mess does not a good popsicle make.
